VIENNA, March 9, 2017 – Anas Abuzaakouk, currently CFO of BAWAG P.S.K., has been appointed Co-CEO with Byron Haynes by the Supervisory Board effective as of March 8, 2017. After ten years working to successfully transform the Bank, Byron Haynes has decided to retire from BAWAG P.S.K. and will remain as Co-CEO through the end of the year.
Byron Haynes states: “With the publication of our record results for the business year 2016 and the successful transformation of the Bank, I feel now is the right time to retire and hand over leadership to Anas Abuzaakouk, who will lead BAWAG P.S.K. to future growth and success. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many dedicated employees that I’ve had a chance to work with, the extended leadership team, and our committed shareholders for their continuous support over the past ten years. Anas Abuzaakouk, who joined BAWAG P.S.K. in 2012 as Chief Restructuring Officer and has been CFO since 2014, said: “I want to first thank Byron for his contributions over the past decade in helping transform the Bank into what we see today and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Enver Sirucic, currently Deputy CFO, will be appointed to the Management Board as Chief Financial Officer by year-end 2017, following completion of the regulatory process. Enver is an Austrian citizen and graduate of the Vienna University of Economics and Business. He joined BAWAG P.S.K. in 2006 and has played an instrumental role in the Bank’s transformation over the past decade in various leadership roles across Finance. In his last role he was responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis and Asset & Liability Management.
