VIENNA, March 8, 2017 – BAWAG P.S.K. today announced that the Bank’s Supervisory Board has appointed Mr. Manuel González Cid as new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BAWAG P.S.K. effective as of March 8, 2017. He succeeds Franklin W. “Fritz” Hobbs, who has been Chairman since March 2013. Fritz is retiring after four successful years, during which his leadership was instrumental in the transformation of the Bank.
Fritz Hobbs commented that “It has been my privilege and honor to have served as BAWAG P.S.K.’s Chairman over the past four years, working closely with the Management Team, and helping transform the Bank into one of the most profitable and best capitalized banks across Europe.”
Manuel is a native of Spain and has considerable knowledge and experience in European banking, having served as Chief Financial Officer of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) Group in Madrid from 2003 to 2014. Manuel is currently a Senior Advisor of Cerberus Global Investment Advisors, LLC and Chairman of GESCOBRO COLLECTION SERVICES S.L.U.
