Mr. Benjamin is the Global General Counsel for Cerberus and joined the Firm in 2007. In his role, Mr. Benjamin oversees all legal functions and activities related to Cerberus and its affiliates across the Firm’s global footprint. His responsibilities include supervising Cerberus’ internal legal teams and providing legal counsel on matters related to the Firm, Cerberus’ portfolio companies, and investment activities.

During his tenure at Cerberus, Mr. Benjamin has held various senior leadership roles, including serving as Cerberus’ Deputy General Counsel and separately, Associate General Counsel. From 2007 to 2012, he held the role of Associate General Counsel of Cerberus Operations & Advisory Company, LLC, the Firm’s industry-leading, proprietary operations platform, where he supported the private equity group and the Firm’s portfolio companies on transactions and general corporate matters.

Mr. Benjamin began his legal career at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in its New York and London offices, representing private equity clients in real estate, M&A, and finance matters.

Mr. Benjamin graduated cum laude from Princeton University and received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
