Mr. Smith serves as the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and oversees communications, public affairs, marketing and government relations globally for the Firm. In his role, he is a strategic adviser for Cerberus’ senior leaders and investment platforms, as well as companies across Cerberus’ portfolio, on communications strategy, government relations, and special situations.

Prior to joining Cerberus in 2026, Mr. Smith was a founder and principal of Braddock Cove Ventures, a strategic advisory and boutique investment firm, and a senior adviser to Lupa Systems.

Previously, Mr. Smith was Executive Vice President and Head of Public Affairs at 21st Century Fox, where he oversaw non-market risk and reputation and led the company’s public affairs, government relations, and advocacy functions worldwide. Before Fox, he co-founded and served as CEO of The Glover Park Group (now FGS Global). Earlier in his career, Mr. Smith was the deputy campaign manager and COO of Vice President Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign, chief of staff at MCI, and a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate.

Mr. Smith graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in American Studies and received an M.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
