Mr. Bastarache is the Chief Information Officer for Cerberus. In his role, he oversees the Firm’s global technology strategy and infrastructure, including applications, cybersecurity, software development, operations, and end user computing and support.

He joined Cerberus in 2007 as a member of the Firm’s operations platform, Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, and has led its IT Practice since 2014. During his tenure, he has conducted over 100+ IT diligence efforts evaluating IT strategy, landscapes, platforms and risks supporting private equity and lending investment objectives. He has also managed complex IT carve-outs and various value creation initiatives at portfolio companies across a wide range of industries, including finance, real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, and pharmaceutical.

Prior to Cerberus, Mr. Bastarache was the Chief Information Officer for Pitney Bowes Capital Services, where he oversaw the separation of its operations and systems from Pitney Bowes Inc. He also served as Global Chief Information Officer for DaimlerChrysler Capital Services and separately, was Chief Information Officer of Mercedes Benz Credit Corporation, leading the technology infrastructure for its automotive lending division in North and South America. Mr. Bastarache began his technology career at Connecticut-based People’s Bank, where he held various technical support, system development, and project management roles.

Mr. Bastarache graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, where he also was an adjunct staff member and guest technology speaker.
