Mr. Kapadia is the Co-Chief Investment Officer of Cerberus Private Equity and serves as Co-Chair of the Private Equity Investment Committee. In his role, he leads the firm’s private equity platform, which has invested approximately $14 billion in global companies over the past two decades.
Since joining the firm in 2003, Mr. Kapadia has been instrumental in establishing Cerberus as an industry pioneer of Operational Private Equity. With 22 years of private equity experience across various industries and structures, he has directly overseen Cerberus’ global private equity investments of approximately $2 billion in both equity and debt transactions and led the firm’s acquisitions of ABC Group, Cyanco, Blue Bird, Peguform, Tower International, Reydel, North American Bus Industries (NABI), and Guilford Mills. Mr. Kapadia has served on the board of various Cerberus portfolio companies and currently sits on the Board of Directors of ABC Group and Cyanco. He also is a member on the Board of Directors of Tower International (NYSE:TOWR) and is the Chairman of the Compensation Committee.
Prior to Cerberus, Mr. Kapadia served in various capacities with The Carlyle Group, a global private investment firm, and Carlyle Management Group, an affiliate of The Carlyle Group dedicated to turnaround and special situation investments. From 1994 to 1996, Mr. Kapadia was a financial analyst with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, an investment banking firm.
Mr. Kapadia graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania. He holds a B.S. Economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. Engineering from the School of Engineering & Applied Science, University of Pennsylvania.
