General Raymond is a Senior Managing Director on the Supply Chain and Strategic Opportunities team, which invests in businesses driving next-generation technologies and capabilities that advance supply chain integrity. In his role, he helps lead investments in technology, aerospace, and defense modernization and provides strategic guidance to the broader platform and its portfolio of investments, including in the space domain.
General Raymond joined Cerberus in 2023 following 38 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Air Force and as a key architect of the U.S. Space Force. Most recently, General Raymond served as the first Chief of Space Operations of the U.S. Space Force, leading the military branch from its creation in 2019 until his retirement in 2022. As the highest-ranking officer in the Space Force, General Raymond held a seat on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and was responsible for organizing and overseeing the interests of the United States and allied nations in space.
Throughout his career as a decorated military officer, General Raymond served across key leadership positions, including as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Director of Plans and Policy at U.S. Strategic Command, and the Commander of Air Force Space Command. He has been recognized with numerous awards and decorations, including the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, and the Legion of Merit.
General Raymond graduated from Clemson University and earned master’s degrees from the Naval War College and Central Michigan University.
