Dr. Samanta Roy is a Managing Director on the Supply Chain and Strategic Opportunities team, which invests in businesses seeking to drive next-generation technologies and capabilities that advance supply chain integrity. He joined Cerberus in 2022, following more than two decades as a distinguished civil servant and private sector executive in the aerospace and defense industry.
Most recently, Dr. Samanta Roy served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Federal Strategy Officer at Electra.aero, an advanced air mobility startup. From 2014 to 2021, he was a senior executive at Lockheed Martin, where he led critical technology roadmaps and managed the company’s engagements with U.S. government research and development organizations. Earlier in his career, Dr. Samanta Roy served extensively across the federal government, including as a strategic analyst at the Congressional Budget Office, the Assistant Director for Space and Aeronautics at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, serving under both the Bush and Obama Administrations, and as a professional staff member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he oversaw the Department of Defense’s science and technology portfolio.
Dr. Samanta Roy is an active reservist in the United States Air Force. He currently serves on the Board of Regents of the Potomac Institute and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He earned a Ph.D., a master’s degree, and a bachelor’s degree in aeronautics and astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a master’s degree in space policy from The George Washington University and diplomas from the International Space University and the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris.
